Edamame
4.2
🇯🇵 Japanese
Simple, bright, and irresistible, these tender edamame pods make a perfect snack or appetizer. Briefly boiled and finished with flaky sea salt, they’re savory, slightly nutty, and wonderfully satisfying to pop from the pod. Serve them warm as a starter or chilled for a light, healthful bite.

Method
Bring a large pot of Water to a rolling boil and stir in a generous pinch of Sea Salt (about 1 tablespoon per 4 cups of water) to season the cooking liquid.
Add the Edamame in Pods to the boiling water and cook for 3–5 minutes, until the pods are bright green and the beans inside are tender but still slightly firm.
Drain the edamame and, if you prefer a firmer texture and brighter color, plunge them into an ice bath for 1 minute, then drain again.
Transfer the drained edamame to a bowl or serving dish and sprinkle with more Sea Salt to taste, tossing or shaking the pods so the salt adheres.
Serve warm or at room temperature; pop the beans from the pod with your teeth and discard the shells. Enjoy as a snack, appetizer, or alongside your favorite dishes.
