Mint Tea

Mint Tea

4.4

undefined Middle

Bright and aromatic, this mint tea pairs the smoky, slightly vegetal notes of gunpowder green tea with fragrant fresh spearmint and a touch of sugar for balance. It’s an invigorating, soothing drink that’s perfect after a meal or anytime you need a comforting warm pick-me-up.

Method

1

Bring about 4 cups of Water to a rolling boil.

2

Warm your teapot and cups by rinsing them with a little of the boiling water, then discard that rinse.

3

Place 1 tablespoon of Gunpowder Green Tea into the warmed teapot and add 1–2 tablespoons of Granulated Sugar, or to taste.

4

Pour a small amount of the boiling water over the tea leaves to rinse them (about 1/4 cup), swirl for 10 seconds, and pour that water away — this removes dust and awakens the leaves.

5

Pour the remaining boiling water into the teapot, add a generous handful of Fresh Spearmint (stems and leaves), cover, and let steep for 3–5 minutes depending on how strong you like it.

6

Stir gently to make sure the sugar dissolves, taste, and adjust sweetness or steeping time if needed.

7

Ladle or pour into cups and enjoy immediately; for a traditional touch, pour from a height to aerate and create a light foam.
